Amendment K puts the Unclaimed Property funds into a “trust” fund managed by the SD Investment Council (SDIC). Renae Randall, Senior Investment Manager, was fired for Whistleblowing about a collapse of Internal Controls on May 30, 2025 from the SD Investment Council. She reported to the SDIC Board (Includes State Treasure Josh Haeder, School & Public Lands Commissioner Brock Greenfield, and SDRS Executive Director Travis Almond), but they refused to reply back and sent her an NDA instead. She has been blocked by a dozen SD entities from reporting this as she is legally required to do for over 16 months.

Renae Randall is concerned that SD citizens are not being properly informed of this issue as the SD News Media has refused to report this story and SD politicians are not disclosing this information either.

Renae Randall feels the SD Investment Council should be investigated and independently audited before any Constitutional Amendments are made allowing the SD Investment Council to manage more “trust” funds.
